Privacy, Analytics and Quiz Results

Most learning activities stay on your device. The Thinking Check works without sharing a quiz result, and privacy-first site analytics separately help us understand page use and performance.

Sharing Optional

Default

Your result stays in your browser unless you actively choose to share it.

Business details

Who Operates This Website

This website is operated under the registered Australian business name Think Smarter AI. Its Australian Business Number is 38 816 809 153.

The ABN and business name registration identify the operator. They do not make this early-stage educational project a registered charity, accredited education provider or registered trade mark.

Your choice

You Can Use the Full Quiz Without Sharing

Completing the questions, seeing the explanations and receiving your score do not require a submission. Nothing is sent to the quiz database unless you finish the quiz, choose to share and confirm that choice.

If you are under 18, do not use the optional sharing form. You can still complete the full quiz without sharing a result.

Local activities

The Question Workshop and Other Local Activities Do Not Submit Results

The Question Workshop, Young Thinkers Lab, Claim Check Lab and Project Triage run in the page only. They do not send prepared choices, gameplay choices or Signal Launch target selections to Think Smarter AI, create a participant profile from those actions or use browser or server storage for the activity state. Reloading or closing the page clears that state.

The Young Thinkers Lab asks for no name, age, school, job, account or free-text response. Its fictional mission choices, aim controls and launches are not part of the optional Thinking Check sharing system. Separate sitewide Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page traffic but does not receive which mission choice or evidence ring a visitor selects.

The project guide can copy a reusable brief to your device's clipboard when you press its copy button. Think Smarter AI does not transmit or store that copied text.

Your theme, sound and motion preferences may be stored locally in your browser. Think Smarter AI does not submit those preferences.

Optional external links

External AI Prompt Links

The AI News briefing and completed Question Workshop challenges may show a prepared prompt and links to independent AI services. The exact prompt appears before the links, and nothing is sent to an AI provider when the page loads. Pressing Copy Prompt asks the browser to place only the displayed text on the clipboard. The website does not transmit that clipboard text to an AI provider.

Opening a provider sends ordinary technical request data to that service. Some reviewed shortcuts may also attempt to prefill the displayed public article title, canonical URL and prompt, or the prepared workshop question. Those undocumented conveniences may fail or change. If a prompt is prefilled—or you paste it—the provider receives it under its own privacy, account, age, retention and usage rules. Think Smarter AI does not receive or store the provider's response and does not load provider scripts, trackers, logos or embedded frames. Do not add personal or sensitive information to a prompt.

Adult account pilot

Private Result History Is a Separate Choice

The public learning pages are for all ages and remain usable without an account. The current private-history account pilot is a separate feature and asks adults to self-confirm that they are 18 or older. It offers Google sign-in. It may also offer a password-free verified email code only when the separate email service and its security controls are fully configured. New verified-email registration remains unavailable until the project's account age and guardian policy is separately approved. Young Thinkers remains accountless.

Google processes the sign-in. Think Smarter AI requests only the OpenID identity scope, then uses the returned Google account identifier to create a one-way keyed reference. Think Smarter AI does not request or store your Google email, name, contacts or profile picture. Read Google's privacy policy before choosing that provider.

If verified email is available and you choose it, Think Smarter AI sends an eight-digit, one-use code through Resend. The raw code is not stored. The email address is held briefly in an encrypted, secure browser cookie while you verify it, then stored in the account database as encrypted text plus a keyed lookup value. Resend necessarily processes the destination address and message to deliver the code. Read Resend's privacy policy before choosing this method.

If a later approved registration flow is offered, it will reserve a separate pseudonymous username. The username is not a login secret. It remains non-searchable and is not displayed by this release. There is no public profile, messaging or scoreboard. Any future visibility requires a separate opt-in feature and review. An email address that happens to match text associated with another provider never merges accounts. Connecting email to an existing account requires a recent sign-in to that account and fresh proof through the emailed code.

The separate account database stores an internal account ID, one-way provider references, adult self-confirmation time, the accepted version of the account notice, the times the account was created and last used to sign in, secure hashes of session tokens and expiry times, and minimal one-use verification and rate-limit records. For a verified-email account it also stores the encrypted private email, its keyed lookup value and reserved public username. It does not store the raw email code, request IP address or browser fingerprint in the account database. A saved result contains only its date and time, pathway, quiz version, score and percentage. Your ten choices are transmitted to the account endpoint so the server can calculate the score, then discarded rather than retained in the saved history row. The row does not contain the review text, research receipt, optional name, age band, job or intended use.

Secure, essential cookies keep the adult signed in for up to 30 days and protect account changes from cross-site requests. They are not advertising cookies. Private history is not joined to the optional research database or sent to Cloudflare Web Analytics.

The interface shows signed-in adults a sitewide My Account disclosure with their account creation date, a route to My Results and controls for signing out and deleting the account. A signed-in adult can export a CSV, delete one result, sign out or delete the account and its history. Deleting the Think Smarter AI account removes its saved results, private login email and sessions. It does not delete or change the Google account or the external email mailbox.

Private history is limited to 500 summaries, with no more than 20 new saves in 24 hours. The retention boundary is deletion by the user or automatic removal after 24 months without a successful sign-in, whichever comes first. Separate daily retention Workers and databases are configured for staging and production, and fabricated records verified the scheduled deletion behaviour before being removed. Future production scheduled runs and the full signed-in production journey still require operational verification.

Adults confirm their own age. The site does not formally verify it. Accounts for people under 18, guardian accounts, public profiles, leaderboards and marketing use are outside this pilot.

What the Quiz Database Stores

  • The Beginner, Everyday or Advanced pathway you selected
  • Your ten answer choices
  • Your score, calculated by the server from those choices
  • The quiz version and version of the consent notice
  • The UTC submission date, without a stored time
  • An optional name or alias
  • An optional job or role
  • Optional broad profile selections, including role category, adult age band and intended use
  • A receipt code for the submission

The form asks for a broad adult age band, not an exact age or date of birth. Please do not enter an employer, school, contact details or sensitive personal information in the optional fields.

Data minimisation

What the Quiz Database Does Not Store

The optional research form does not ask for your email address, employer or school. The saved research row does not add your request IP address, browser user agent, location or a reusable tracking identifier. It does not provide a public endpoint for reading submitted rows.

Because the optional job or role field accepts short text, do not enter an employer, school, contact detail or other information you do not want stored with the result.

Purpose

Why Results May Be Analysed

Shared results may be used to understand broad answer patterns, improve quiz questions and explanations, and build factual aggregate evidence about how the resource is used. An individual's row will not be presented as a public case study without separate permission.

If a visitor chooses to share them, a broad adult age band and broad job or role can help compare how the questions and explanations work for different adult groups. Both fields remain optional.

Quiz data is not sold and is not used for advertising.

Hosting

Cloudflare Processes the Technical Request

The optional research database and separate account database use Cloudflare D1 infrastructure. No particular storage country is promised here. Cloudflare necessarily processes technical request data to deliver and protect the website, even though the saved research and saved account history rows do not include the IP address, user agent or location fields listed above.

You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy for information about its services.

Site analytics

Privacy-First Traffic and Performance Measurement

Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled across this site to measure page use and website performance. Cloudflare states that its beacon collects a minimum set of timing and navigation information, does not use cookies or local storage for usage metrics and does not track individuals across different sites.

This sitewide measurement is separate from optional Thinking Check sharing. It does not receive the answers or optional profile details entered in the quiz form. Read Cloudflare's data collection explanation for current technical information.

Retention and deletion

Raw Quiz Results Are Kept for a Limited Time

Raw submissions are intended to be retained for no more than 90 days and may be deleted sooner. Cleanup of expired rows runs when an accepted submission is processed, with periodic manual review as an additional check.

After sharing, keep the receipt code shown on screen. To request early deletion, email Think Smarter AI and include that receipt code. The receipt is used to locate the row without requiring an email address in the quiz database.
