Timeline
Visible Milestones
18 July 2026
Think Smarter AI Was Founded
Jacob W. founded the project around the principle that AI should improve human thinking, not replace it.
29 July 2026
The Website Moved from Carrd to Coded Source
The homepage source was stored in a private GitHub repository and deployed through Cloudflare Pages to the live custom domain after review. Carrd was retained temporarily as a rollback option.
29 July 2026
About, Start Here and Build Log Were Added to the Site
The first multi-page navigation, mobile menu and practical learning page were released through reviewed website changes.
30 July 2026
The Current Visual System and Founder Page Were Introduced
The public site moved beyond its Carrd-era styling, added a dedicated Founder page and explained how human direction and AI assistance are separated.
30 July 2026
The Site Added Its First Interactive Practice Activity
Website v0.4 added the Thinking Check, a transparent account of how AI helped build the website and an exploratory public Case Study 001 page.
30 July 2026
The Three Audience Priorities Were Added to the Site
The website added a plain-language beginner guide and an honest Young Thinkers roadmap. The roadmap states that no child-ready activity has been validated or released.
30 July 2026
Website v0.5.1 Expanded the Thinking Check
The practice activity added more realistic choices, response-specific explanations and a percentage result. The New to AI guide also added a neutral list of official AI services for first-time testing.
31 July 2026
Website v0.6 Added Tailored Paths and Optional Result Sharing
The Thinking Check expanded into a thirty-question bank with separate Beginner, Everyday and Advanced ten-question pathways. After seeing a result, an adult visitor can choose whether to share one completed response set for aggregate learning. The release added explicit consent, a privacy notice, server-checked pathway scoring, a deletion receipt and a short-retention database boundary. The quiz still works without sharing.
2 August 2026
Website v0.7 Added an Advanced AI Project Guide
The site added a human-led project-management guide for advanced AI users, a local three-round Project Triage activity, a reusable project brief and clearer access from the homepage.
2 August 2026
Website v0.8 Added Learning Paths and Claim Checking
The site grouped its guidance into a Learning Hub, simplified the primary navigation and added a local ten-decision Claim Check Lab using fictional source material. The lab does not submit or store responses and is not a validated assessment.
2 August 2026
Website v0.9 Released the Young Thinkers Lab for Adult Review
The release turns the Young Thinkers roadmap into an adult-review prototype with three story-driven missions, fourteen closed-choice decisions and a static strongest-path guide. Gameplay choices stay in the page and are not submitted or scored. Intended age, safeguarding ownership, learner release, child testing and learning outcomes remain unverified.
2 August 2026
Website v0.10 Released Signal Launch for Adult Review
The release adds an original action-based signal sorter beside the retained question missions. Its controls are designed for adults to aim six fictional claims at evidence rings using touch, mouse or keyboard. It has no score, timer, leaderboard, drag requirement, submitted action or saved state. The release does not establish child readiness or learning outcomes.
3 August 2026
Website v0.11 Deployed the Optional Adult Account Interface
The reviewed source was merged and deployed with a sitewide My Account disclosure, account creation date and private-result controls. The static account page and anonymous session-availability response were verified on the custom domain. A real staging Google sign-in and one deliberate staging save were verified before release, but real production sign-in, save, history, export and sign-out smoke evidence remains pending. Two-real-account isolation, physical mobile and screen-reader acceptance remain unverified.
10 August 2026
Website v0.12 Improved Entry, Feedback and Adult-Review Interactions
The release made the ten-scenario Thinking Check easier to reach, added pathway-aware next-page guidance, introduced an animated adult-review feedback guide and optional local sounds, and improved Signal Launch with measured hoop targeting. It also added public business identification after explicit approval. No new activity-answer collection was introduced, and child readiness, physical-device acceptance and learning outcomes remain unverified.
Detailed patch history — 13 updates from 10–11 August 2026
10 August 2026
Website v0.12.1 Polished Feedback, Motion and Homepage Flow
The patch added clearer animated strong and reconsider states to the prepared feedback guides, refined Signal Launch with an AI basketball and more recognisable hoops, reordered the homepage and boxed its four thinking principles. A slow signal-field background moves on larger screens while staying static on mobile and for reduced-motion users. Sounds remain optional, gameplay remains local, and real-device animation and audio acceptance remains open.
10 August 2026
Website v0.12.2 Added Measured Flight and a Supervised Young Thinkers Preview
The patch replaced the remaining Signal Launch teleport with a measured arc through the selected hoop and a wrong-answer rim rebound that returns the ball home. Young Thinkers moved from adult-review-only wording to supervised use with a trusted adult, without claiming independent child readiness or learning outcomes. A subtle code-native signal-network and DNA background was added with static mobile and reduced-motion fallbacks. Gameplay remains local and ephemeral, sounds remain optional, and no new activity-answer collection was introduced.
10 August 2026
Website v0.12.3 Refined Motion, Feedback and Support Clarity
The patch added a gently moving glow to the desktop signal background, strengthened only the four homepage principle cards and gave the Thinking Check guide a persistent toothy smile with a short repeating laugh cycle for strong answers plus a sad face with one repeating tear for reconsider answers. It also corrected Signal Launch so completed shots clear the busy cursor, while wrong shots enable Try Again only after the return finishes. The About page now explains the existing optional one-time support link without introducing paid access, membership, payment code or new data collection. Mobile keeps a contained static background, and reduced-motion users keep the toothy and sad expressions without animation.
10 August 2026
Website v0.12.4 Made the Ambient Signal Field Visible
Jacob reported that the intended glow was not visible in Opera or Edge. The correction moved the field above the page base but below the content, added luminous doubles around the network lines and nodes, and gave mobile a contained moving constellation field and DNA strand. Motion remains slow and transform-only. The Learning Hub's four route rows now open the matching next step, and visible copy uses more natural wording. Local interaction sound is on by default after the browser receives a user gesture, with a sitewide device-only mute preference at the end of the navigation. The Thinking Check and Young Thinkers guides keep repeating their strong or reconsider reactions while feedback remains visible, and disabled Signal Launch aim controls no longer show a busy cursor after a completed shot. Reduced-motion users retain static feedback expressions and a static glow, forced-colour mode removes the decoration, and the release changes no account schema, quiz result payload, analytics or collected activity data.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.5 Stabilised Mobile Scrolling and Made Motion Controllable
Jacob's physical-iPhone recording showed intermittent scroll resistance and no perceptible background movement. Review found that the mobile field had expanded beyond the footer and promoted a document-height animated layer, while the tested browsers were also following a reduced-motion device setting. This correction removes the extra page height, restores one document scroll owner and uses only small viewport-contained mobile decorations. Desktop and mobile movement is shorter and more visible, and a sitewide Motion control lets a visitor explicitly start or pause it while the default still follows the device preference. The control stores only that preference in the browser. No account schema, quiz or gameplay payload, analytics or collected activity data changes in this patch. Physical-iPhone acceptance of the repaired build remains pending.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.6 Put Each New Thinking Check Scenario in View
Jacob reported that the iPhone could leave the next Thinking Check scenario above or below the visible area. The previous handoff combined a collapsing fieldset, smooth page movement and immediate focus, which could race on mobile Safari. The correction waits for the new layout, moves focus without allowing it to reposition the page, and aligns the scenario directly below the sticky header with a second-frame and short delayed check. The questions, answers, scoring, optional sharing and private saved-result data remain unchanged. Physical-iPhone acceptance of all ten transitions remains pending.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.7 Made Background Motion the Default
Jacob asked for the ambient background to move without first enabling it. This patch makes decorative background motion on by default for new visitors while preserving an explicit Motion Off choice in that browser. Other reduced-motion safeguards remain unchanged. The homepage time-value quote now sits in a translucent bordered panel that keeps the moving field visible behind it. Account, quiz, gameplay, analytics and collected-data behaviour are unchanged.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.8 Made Light-Mode Motion Visible
Jacob reported that the signal lines still appeared motionless in light mode on both phone and desktop. The animation was running, but the pale trace, node and DNA colours were being reduced further by the decorative layer opacity and mask. This patch strengthens only the light-theme field and mask so movement is visible while keeping the same transform-only animation, fixed mobile geometry, Motion control and dark presentation. Account, quiz, gameplay, analytics and collected-data behaviour are unchanged.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.9 Balanced the Header and Added Four-Bounce Miss Feedback
Jacob identified uneven wrapping in the full desktop header and asked for clearer basketball feedback. This patch keeps wide-screen navigation controls on one line at equal height, switches to the existing menu at 85rem and below, and extends the compact handset treatment through 24rem. Signal Launch now plays a procedural net swish at a correct rim entry. A missed shot produces a procedural rim clunk, then makes exactly four progressively lower and smaller ground bounces before returning to centre. The Sound control still mutes every cue, text feedback remains complete without audio, and reduced-motion mode keeps only the essential rim-and-return state. Every current footer also provides an accessible Discord community invite with a visible label and safe new-tab behaviour. The invite is not treated as an organisation profile in structured metadata. Gameplay remains local and ephemeral, and account, quiz, analytics and collected-data behaviour are unchanged.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.10 Clarified Search Identity and Account Crawl Control
This focused correction removes the robots.txt crawl block from the private account route so search crawlers can read its existing noindex, nofollow instructions. The route remains excluded from the sitemap and continues to send matching noindex, nofollow instructions in both page metadata and response headers. Homepage structured data now separates one approved Organisation identity from the Website identity and links them through the publisher relationship. It uses only the approved public name, compact brand name, canonical URL, company logo, founding date, profile URLs and ABN. Account, authentication, database, analytics and interactive-product behaviour are unchanged.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.11 Made the Motion Control Quieter
Background motion remains on for visitors without a saved preference, while a browser-local Motion Off choice continues to be respected. On wide screens, the large motion label is replaced by a compact titled icon beside the unchanged Sound control. Inside the existing menu, the same keyboard-focusable pressed-state button keeps its full Motion On or Motion Off label. Its screen-reader name stays “Background motion” while the pressed state communicates On or Off. Motion starts only after the control script applies the On state, so a blocked module leaves a static background. The default-on choice still overrides an operating-system reduced-motion preference when no browser choice exists. The explicit opt-out remains, and human accessibility acceptance is still open. Account, authentication, database, quiz, gameplay, analytics and collected-data behaviour are unchanged.
11 August 2026
Discord Footer Invite No Longer Has a Scheduled Expiry
The original time-limited community invite was replaced across every current footer with an owner-configured invite that has no scheduled expiry and no use limit. Its accessible label, safe new-tab behaviour and exclusion from organisation profile metadata are unchanged. The server owner or Discord can still revoke an invite, so this is a configuration record rather than a guarantee of permanent availability. No account, authentication, database, analytics or interactive-product behaviour changed.
11 August 2026
Website v0.12.12 Put the Community in the Header
The approved Discord community invite now appears in the primary navigation on every current page and the 404 with the visible and accessible label Discord (13+). The header uses a wider bounded desktop canvas, while the existing responsive menu begins at 100rem and below so light-theme and signed-in controls do not crowd the route at common desktop widths, including 1366px, 1440px and 1600px. The Discord row spans that menu, and static routes remain ahead of the Sound and Motion controls in a stable order. The footer link remains available, both locations safely open a new tab and the invite remains outside organisation profile metadata. The server owner or Discord can still revoke the invite. Account, authentication, database, quiz, gameplay, analytics and collected-data behaviour are unchanged.
13 August 2026
The Site Added a Question Workshop
The Question Workshop adds three local scenario challenges for people who already use conversational AI but want clearer and more reviewable answers. Each challenge builds a question through six prepared decisions covering the goal, useful context, constraints, privacy, evidence and a purposeful next turn. It has no account, open text field, score, timer, submitted choice or saved activity state. Completing a challenge follows the authored practice path but does not establish prompting skill, AI literacy or a better result in real life.
15 August 2026
AI News Published Its First Human-Reviewed Roundup
The first public AI News article selects sixteen developments announced from 23 June through 10 August and orders them newest first. Each original summary links to a primary organisational, repository or regulatory source and separates what changed, why it may matter and a limitation. The homepage now provides a direct route to the roundup. The article is curated rather than exhaustive, and publication does not independently prove provider benchmarks, safety claims or outcomes.
15 August 2026
AI News Moved to Dated Briefings
The first article now uses the reusable title AI News Briefing: June–August 2026 instead of putting its story count in the headline. The hub and homepage identify the latest briefing, while the article links back to the full archive. Future briefings will use separate dated pages with real newer and older links. No inactive Next button is shown before another edition exists. The sixteen reported news items, their order and their source list are unchanged.
15 August 2026
AI News Moved into Primary Navigation
AI News is now the second primary route after Home on every current page and the 404. The responsive Explore menu uses a compact grid on wider screens and returns to one column on phones, while the complete no-JavaScript route list remains available. Its breakpoint and the widened full header now move together at 108rem to prevent the added route from crowding the header. The dated briefing now uses the shorter editorial-method heading How to Read This Briefing, while retaining its source limitations and selected-not-exhaustive wording. No destination was removed. The reported news, sources, account, quiz, gameplay, analytics and collected-data behaviour are unchanged.
17 August 2026
Prepared Questions Can Continue in External AI Tools
The dated AI News briefing now shows a source-aware prompt near the top of the article, and a completed Question Workshop challenge offers the question the visitor just assembled. Both placements show the exact text and disclosure before links to ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity. Copying is a separate explicit action. No prompt or launcher data is sent to an AI provider on page load. Opening a provider sends ordinary request data, while best-effort prompt links may also carry the displayed public prompt. Think Smarter AI receives no AI response, loads no provider code or logos and adds no account, database or launcher-specific analytics event.
17 August 2026
EU Sources Added Official Fallbacks and the Briefing Prompt Was Tightened
The two EU policy entries retain their original Commission links and now add official AI Act Service Desk fallbacks. The Omnibus entry also links the enacted EUR-Lex regulation. This follows a client-specific rate-limit response rather than a broken-link finding. The article prompt now asks for an answer under 450 words, checks up to five claims, reports exact source-access errors, treats a 429 as not checked in that run and tries listed official fallbacks before relying on an alternative. The sixteen developments, their order and their factual summaries are unchanged.
17 August 2026
Website v0.13 Made the Learning System Easier to Scan
The release aligns current Young Thinkers pages after Jacob confirmed multi-adult review and cleared the activities for learner use, while keeping their local, accountless design and unverified learning-outcome boundary explicit. Major practice pages now show where they fit the existing Human Thinking Loop. The AI News briefing adds a four-theme At a Glance view and keeps its full source-aware prompt inside a compact native disclosure. The homepage now distinguishes its primary experience, learning route and current-content route, while detailed patch history remains keyboard-accessible and fully available. No route, activity, historical milestone, account, authentication, database, analytics, source list or external-AI behaviour was removed.

What Is Being Tested Next
Planned: production sign-out and two-real-account isolation remain unverified, as do current-site physical-device and assistive-technology acceptance. Multiple adults reviewed the current Young Thinkers activities and Jacob cleared them for learner use. A defined learner age range, formal child testing, independent safeguarding validation, curriculum alignment and learning outcomes remain unverified. AI News search appearance, usefulness and learning outcomes also remain unverified.
